croquis est encore le meilleur moyen de patienter quand on sait qu'on va devoir attendre quelqu'un un bon moment! Parfois même, on en perdrait la notion du temps... I think that sketching is the best way when you have to wait for somebody and when you know that it will take some time! Sometimes one even loose track of the the time...

Quelques croquis pour ma belle-maman qui aimait tellement cueillir des champignons. Some sketches to my mum-in-law who loved so much picking mushrooms.

J'avais une petite idée du sujet que j'allais croquer pour ma traditionnelle rubrique mensuelle "Un autre regard", du journal Le Messager. Mais il me manquait quelque chose: des personnages. J'ai donc dessiné l'ensemble en attendant que quelqu'un passe pour me donner une image précise de l'échelle à employer. C'est un petit moment de risque. I had an idea about the subject I wanted to sketch for my monthly posting "A different look" for the Le Messager newspaper. But I missed something: people. So I sketched first the rest and waited till somebody came and therefore gave me the precise scale I had to use. A little at risk moment.

Ces jours passés, j'étais dans le Jura suisse et le Jura français pour étudier la possibilité offerte par un charmant gîte situé à Grandfontaine (Suisse). A suivre... I am just back. I was in the Swiss and French Jura to study the offer given by a charming Bed an Breakfast in Grantfontaine (Switzerland). To be continued.

Un bon virus. A good virus.

J'avoue avoir une espèce d'addiction au croquis à l'extérieur, comme ici au marché de Vevey où, l'autre jour, pendant que j'attendais Odile. Et heureux de l'être! Regardant les écoliers de mon village à qui j'ai donné quelques leçons de dessin, je crois bien que quelques-uns ont déjà attrapé le virus... I confess that I am a kind of addicted outdoor sketcher, like here at the Vevey market where, a few days ago, while waiting for Odile. And happy to be so! Looking at the school boys and girls I had given some drawing lessons, it seems that some of them have already been infected by the virus..

Trouver un bon encadreur. Finding a good picture framer.

C'est une chose que d'avoir une belle oeuvre et c'en est une autre que de trouver un cadre qui la mette en valeur. A ce sujet, un de mes collectionneurs vient de me montrer ce que l'encadreur Daniel Gumy, de Bulle, lui a fait. Et je dois dire que cela m'a épaté. That's one thing to have a good work and that's quite another one to find the frame that matches best. In this way, one of my collectors has just showed me what the picture framer Daniel Gumy, in Bulle, realized. And I have to say it's a great job.

Et voilà ma toile acrylique terminée. Elle m'a beaucoup appris et elle m'a demandé pas mal de travail. Celle-ci, je crois bien qu'elle ne sera pas en vente et que je vais la garder à la maison!

That's my finished acrylic painting. It taught me a lot and a great deal of work. That one, I think, won't be for sale. I will keep it at home!
