La neige fond, mais le croquis demeure. The snow melts, but the sketch remains!

C'était un grand plaisir de faire du ski de fond durant tout ce mois de janvier au Crêt! C'est ensoleillé et proche de zéro degré. Mais, ceci n'empêche pas la neige de fondre petit à petit. Bientôt il ne restera que le croquis...

It was great fun to country ski in January in Le Crêt! Sunny and near freezing level. But this doesn't prevent the snow from melting little by little. The sketch will soon be the only remain...

En manque d'inspiration. Short of inspiration.

Ce sont des choses qui arrivent: ces temps, je suis plutôt en manque d'inspiration. Je fouille un peu dans mes photos et j'en fais un croquis de temps à autre en attendant un sujet plus sérieux. Relax.

Things like that happen: I am a bit short of inspiration. I dig into my photos and I sometimes make a sketch of one of them, waiting for a more serious subject. Keep cool!

Quelqu'un qui vous sourit. Someone who is smiling at you.

Ce n'est pas que je me sente isolé dans mon atelier, mais parfois c'est bon d'avoir au mur un visage que vous avez croqué et qui vous sourit. That's not that I feel lonely in my studio, but sometimes it's good having on the wall a smiling face you have sketched.

Premiers et seconds plans. Foregrounds and backgrounds.

En général, ce n'est pas très difficile de donner un effet de profondeur en accentuant le premier plan. Avec l'utilisation de couleurs chaudes, de la perspective et de traits plus foncés. Mais qu'en est-il quand il faut mettre plutôt en évidence l'arrière-plan? Sans compter cette autre difficulté, pour moi, qu'est le sujet des montagnes! Là, j'ai l'impression d'être un peu sur la bonne voie.
