Surprises!

La 1ère surprise a été la découverte sur Facebook d'une aquarelle réalisée par un collègue talentueux, Sandu Dumitrescu de Roumanie. Il a pris comme sujet ma photo de profil et l'a interprétée de bonne façon à sa manière. Multumesc!

The first surprise was to see on Facebook a watercolor made by a talented colleague, Sandu Dumitrescu of Romania. He took my profile photo as a reference and made a good work of it. Multumesc!

La 2ème surprise, c'est celle pour j'ai été complice en peignant une commande pour un anniversaire. Il fallait y mettre une 2 CV jaune et le nom du resto où ils s'étaient rencontrés il y a longtemps. Bon anniversaire!

The 2nd surprise is the one for which I took part by painting a watercolor on commission. They wanted a yellow 2CV and the name of the restaurant where they first met a long time ago. Happy Birthday!

Tourner la page. Turning the page.

Je ne sais pas pour vous, mais moi je suis plutôt impatient de tourner la page de l'hiver pour celle du printemps. C'est ce qui m'a inspiré ce sujet rencontré en marchant. La grange encore toute endormie et la machine qui semble attendre patiemment la saison des foins.

I don't know about you, but as for me I am rather eager to turn the page of the wintertime and go the the one about the springtime. That's what this subject inspired me while rambling. The barn is still asleep and the big red tool seems to be longing for the hay season.

 Les conférences et l'exposition ont eu un grand succès. Grâce aux ventes d'aquarelles, ce sont plus de mille femmes népalaises qui vont pouvoir bénéficier du vaccin contre le Human Papilloma Virus, les protégeant ainsi des risques de cancer de l'utérus, 2ème cause de mortalité chez les femmes népalaises. Merci, ou mieux:

comme elles le disent dans leur langue!

The speeches and the painting exhibit were pretty successful. Thanks to the sales of the watercolors, more than a thousand of Nepalese women will have access to the vaccine against the Human Papilloma Virus, protecting them against the cervical cancer which is the 2nd cause of death amongst them. Thanks, or better:

like they say in their language!
