Une exposition qui valait bien ses 6 heures de train. Un enchantement autant qu'une source bienvenue, après plus de deux ans sans retourner à Bâle dans un musée! Sous le charme, je me suis offert le temps d'un croquis avant de rentrer.

An exhibit that was worth its six-hour train ride. Enchantment and a great source as well, after two years without visiting a museum in Basel! Charmed, I indulged myself in a sketch at a bistro table before going back home.

Quelques minutes de gloire pour la 2 CV. A few minutes of glory for the 2 CV.

Il y avait foule à la traditionnelle rencontre des Oldtimers à Vuisternens-dt-Romont et les Ferrari, Triumph, Mustang et autres Porsche tenaient la dragée haute. Moi, ce qui m'intéressait plutôt, c'était un endroit à l'ombre pour dessiner tranquillement! Cette occasion, c'est une modeste 2 CV qui me l'a donnée, en train d'accueillir quelques admirateurs! J'y ai ajouté un pickup américain un peu rondouillet.

The usual oldtimers car show was crowded this year in Vuisternens. Ferraris, Triumphs, Mustangs and other Porsches were on the top ten. What intersted me instead, was a spot on the shade to sketch quietly! This opportunity was given by a modest 2 CV welcoming few admirors! I added an Amercian and plump pickup...

Vert, la pire couleur! Green, the worse color!

Demandez à n'importe quel peintre quel est la couleur qui lui donne le plus de problème. Il va sûrement vous répondre: le vert. Et en plus, quand il s'agit de modifier la photo, c'est encore pire. Je n'y ai pas échappé en faisant cette aquarelle sur place, le chalet de Belle Chaux aux Paccots. Je devrais y ajouter une petite teinte rougeâtre, je pense. Ask any painter which is the color that gives him the more troubles. He is bound to answer: the green one. What's more, when it comes to fix the photo, it's even worse. I didn't escape that problem while doing this watercolor, the chalet Belle Chaux in Les Paccots. I will have to add a reddish touch, I suppose.

Pour mon illustration mensuelle, je voulais un sujet qui évoque la rentrée scolaire. Donc, j'ai attendu le passage du bus scolaire avec un arrière-plan qui me plaisait; ici le château de Palézieux.

As my monthly posting, I wanted a subject that told about going back to school. So, I waited the school bus with a background I loved; here the castle of Palézieux.

Occupé à faire du vélo cette semaine! Busy cycling this week!

J'avais bien pris mon carnet de croquis et l'intention d'en profiter un peu, mais là-bas, en France, près d'Aix-les-Bains, avec des copains cyclistes, l'effort était davantage placé dans les grimpées de cols. C'était génial, mais trop peu de temps pour s'offrir un croquis. Juste celui-ci au coin d'une table pendant la pause-café.

I took my sketchbook with the intention of using it. But, when staying and cycling in France, near Aix-les-Bains, with fellow cyclists, I had to put my energy climbing the gaps here and there. That was fun, but it left too little time to sketch. Only that one, at the corner of the table, at the coffee break.
