Quelque part en hiver. Somewhere in winter.
A bientôt j'espère!
Amongst my faithful visitors, there is somebody I am always pleased to meet in this spot; she will easily recognize it. See you soon, I hope!

Comment faire une aquarelle "lâchée"? How to make a "loose" watercolor?
It's a question I am so often asked! I would say that the more you are going to paint and make tries and errors, the more you will get it. But, more practically:
1. Choose a grey, windy and chilly day and go to the Seeland (which has all these conditions most of the winter..)
2. You have less than one hour? Perfect, especially if you also have to run to fetch some water to the fountain.
3. Cars passing by? Nice!
4. It's 3 degrees and wet? Let the watercolor do a part of the work!
5. Use only a big brush.
6. Roughly add some details.
7. Run to take a warm hot chocolate and let the watercolor trying to dry...

La neige fond, mais le croquis demeure. The snow melts, but the sketch remains!
It was great fun to country ski in January in Le Crêt! Sunny and near freezing level. But this doesn't prevent the snow from melting little by little. The sketch will soon be the only remain...

En manque d'inspiration. Short of inspiration.
Relax.
Things like that happen: I am a bit short of inspiration. I dig into my photos and I sometimes make a sketch of one of them, waiting for a more serious subject. Keep cool!

Quelqu'un qui vous sourit. Someone who is smiling at you.
That's not that I feel lonely in my studio, but sometimes it's good having on the wall a smiling face you have sketched.

Premiers et seconds plans. Foregrounds and backgrounds.
In general it's not so difficult to emphasize the depth effect to highlight the foreground. By using warm colors, perspective and stronger lines. But what about when one has to highlight de backgrounds? Without counting on the other difficulty which is, for me, the subject of mountains! Here, I have the impression of being on the good way.
